Promoting HEALTH and wellbeing

Our attention to health stems from a deep understanding of its vital role in fostering a vibrant community and securing a better future. We focus on three key areas: upgrading medical infrastructure, nurturing a healthy community, and driving innovation in healthcare. By addressing these critical aspects, we aim to create a lasting impact and contribute to the overall wellbeing of our community. 

 

Key initiatives and achievements 

 

1. Supporting Casa Filip: a second home for cancer warriors (Osana Foundation) 

• Focus: Casa Filip provides accommodation for cancer patients and their families who travel to Cluj-Napoca for treatment. They offer lodging, meals, and emotional support at minimal costs. 

• Our contribution: Casa Filip opened in 2023 the doors to its second home and Yonder sponsored the construction of a room in this house, which bears our name. 

• Impact of the new construction for 6 months: 

• • 260 accommodated individuals (150 cancer patients, 110 family members)
  • 3,350 nights 
  • Yonder’s family room: 14 patients and their relatives for 230 nights. It is a family room, and they have accommodated only couples or parent-child pairs here. At least two families have stayed continuously for two months in the Yonder room. 

• Impact of our sponsorship: Accommodation, meals, and essential supplies for 100 individuals out of 190 accommodated.

2. Addressing genuine needs in the Romanian medical system through Help Others Help NGO 

• 2021: Donation for a lithotripter at “Sfanta Maria” Emergency Children’s Hospital, Iași. 

• Impact: The device provides easier and less painful treatment for children suffering from kidney diseases. 

• Usage: Treated approximately 50 patients from January 2022 to March 2024. 

• 2022-2023: Donation for an essential external ultrasound machine at “Sfanta Maria” Emergency Hospital for Children, Iași. 

• Impact: We equipped the only pediatric hospital in Moldova with an ultrasound machine that helps monitor children admitted to the gastroenterology department. 

• • Approximately 1200 patients benefited from ultrasounds performed with the device donated out of the 1780 patients admitted to the gastroenterology department. 

• 2023: 3 pulse oximeters / Philips Efficia CM10 monitor with touchscreen and reusable and disposable accessories for the neonatology ward at the Municipal Emergency Hospital in Roman. 

• Commitment: Empower Yonderists to bring forward proposals from hospitals in need of medical equipment, focusing on pediatrics and maternity wards.

3. Heart Institute of Cluj-Napoca 

• 2021: Donation of minimally invasive surgery kit, second kit of its kind at the Institute 

• Usage: over 100 minimally invasive operations performed between 2018-2022. 

• Impact: reduced postoperative pain and quicker recovery, lower risk of infection, faster return to normal activities, reduced trauma, shorter hospital stays (3-5 days vs. 8-12 days), lowering costs. 

• 2022: Modernization of a learning hub for residents 

• Usage: One classroom within the Heart Institute was modernized with the necessary furniture and equipment, creating a modern learning hub for residents.
