AI-DLC Workshop at CareInMotion at Altera Digital Health
Last week, I had the pleasure of facilitating a Yonder AI-DLC workshop with the CareInMotion team at Altera Digital Health.
We had 2 main goals:
- help the team adopt a more structured and efficient way of working with AI,
- build real software deliverables that are not just experiments, but production-ready initiatives.
- And one unofficial goal: have fun while doing it!
Over the past year, we have spent a lot of time refining our AI-DLC methodology. It’s easy to start thinking that success depends on the framework, the prompts, the workflows, the structure. But last week reminded me that those are only part of the equation; what really makes the difference is much more human:
- The willingness to question familiar ways of working.
- The curiosity to explore ideas together instead of protecting your own.
- The trust to experiment, even when there isn’t a clear answer yet.
That’s exactly what I saw during our two-day workshop with the ambitious CareInMotion team. Despite having only a short time to prepare, they came up with so many innovative ideas that our first challenge was deciding which ones to tackle. Three teams then turned those ideas into one coherent solution.
But what I will remember is watching people who had never worked this way before gradually change how they approached software development: conversations became more open, ideas started flowing faster, AI became part of the discussion instead of the center of it. One PM’s comment captured the experience particularly well: “I watched the team actually change how they think, in real time.”
Thank you to Kevin Ritter and his team at CareInMotions for welcoming us and making those two days such an open, collaborative, and energizing experience, and to our Yonder AI Champions for guiding the teams with patience, positivity, and expertise.
I left inspired, and even more convinced that AI transformation is, above all, a people transformation. Building AI-first organizations starts with the willingness to adapt and learn together.

The Carina Software Group AI-DLC Hackathon in Bristol this week had real energy, and a clear focus on turning that into business value.
Carina Software Group hosted their first AI-DLC Hackathon, and Yonder was glad to help with mentoring throughout the process, bringing perspectives across AI, cloud, and engineering.
Not just learning, but also a strong focus on implementing ideas that generate real, extra value for clients. Great to see leaders creating space for this kind of activity.
Also a big thank you to my Yonder colleagues who took mentoring to another level.

My second Thrive at Andromeda, and I came back energized. Again!
A few days in Cancun with some of the brightest minds in our industry reminded me why I enjoy what we do at Constellation Software Inc.
People were excited about what was coming, not afraid of it.
And what’s coming is AI.
Not a buzzword.
Not a threat.
The biggest opportunity our industry has seen in a long time.
I saw the shift happening in real time: from “what if we lose?” to “how do we win?”
That mindset change is everything.
Through it all, one thing stayed constant: customer-centricity.
AI is a powerful enabler, but it only creates value when pointed in the right direction.
Toward the people who trust us.
With my Yonder colleagues, we shared our experiences with:
👍 AI-DLC: how AI reshapes the way we think about Kanban and Scrum
👍 Security in the AI era: the gap between a POC and a production-ready feature matters more than ever
👍 Modernizing legacy products: no one-size-fits-all, always starting with context and a solid tech assessment
5 things I’m taking home:
James Severance: A high but visible tech debt beats a low but hidden one
Stephanie Durflinger: Always come back to the customer
Mark Miller: Be excellent at what you do, and think alongside your customers and partners
Adam Zimmer: Great leadership means applying CSI best practices even when the business is shrinking
Kirk Lattner: AI-powered prototypes compress build-test-iterate from weeks to days. Better time to market, happier customers.
Thank you, Bonnie Wilhelm and Karin Slaughter, MBA, for creating the space for these inspiring conversations and inviting Yonder as your innovation partner on this journey. It’s a privilege.
