Aquila AI Hackathon

Co-organized by Yonder

Reflecting on the Aquila AI Hackathon a couple of weeks back, there are some strong takeaways.

The opening dinner was on Tuesday, 23, followed by 2 days of coding, 24-25. And on the morning of the 26th, there were the presentations.

Aquila hosted their first AI Hackathon at their Florida offices, and Yonder was glad to co-organize. We brought 7 mentors to work directly with participants throughout the day, with additional support from AWS and Microsoft, a solid mix of perspectives across AI, cloud, and engineering.

Beyond the learning goal, there was a strong focus on implementing ideas that generate real, extra value for clients, not just exploring AI as productivity, but building things that could actually ship. Real teams, real problems, real time pressure, prizes at the end.

Great to see leaders investing this kind of time and energy in their teams, and great to see Aquila pulling the ecosystem together with a clear eye on turning AI into client impact.

Also, a big thank you to my Yonder colleagues who took mentoring to another level.
