The Christmas season is a good time to start thinking about helping other people. Giving warmth, love and hope. That’s what Christmas should be all about. A time to share our good fortune with our neighbours in need across the world. With this in mind we run a series of charity activities in our organisation – all meant to bring a smile and some happiness to the less fortunate people. One of this is ShoeBox campaign. And this is my story of the ShoeBox projects and the way I would like to say “Thank you” to all our colleagues who involved themselves, who brought gifts for kids, and to all the people outside Yonder who came with their gifts to us.
What is Shoebox?
ShoeBox project is a tiny attempt to make the world a better place. People involved in this initiative try to put a smile on the face of underprivileged children every year, by giving them presents in a shoe box.
How it all started ?
Well, it all started during a conversation I had with my colleague, Meda. We both agreed we would like to get involved in something big and special for this Christmas and we established we are going to work together at Shoebox. We had to deal with a bunch of bureaucracy activities like registering Yonder as a Shoebox partner, preparing lists with the kids that will receive the gifts, register all the donors on lists and finally to deliver them. As you can imagine it was a lot of work to handle, but we had the great help from our coworkers: Mara, Laura and Anca.
Where did the gifts went?
I had to deal so many times during this campaign with the following questions:
“Where will my gift go? Is it really delivered to somebody?”
To answer to your questions or fears I will tell you a big YES together with a big THANK YOU. I don’t think that words can thank you enough for what you all did so I am going to let the pictures speak for themselves.
Gifts that were taken to Magoaja. We also delivered some gifts in Tauti (Floresti) and the rest of them will be delivered to Pata Rat.
I would like to end by thanking you for your involvement and kindness and to wish you :
“Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!See you in 2017!”
