1993 was more than the year of pioneering
While in Netherlands the World Games took place, one man leaves his country and came to Cluj-Napoca, Romania to found the first software company named Nethrom.
The first revenue came from software for publishing books, restaurant menus, and flyers. After a while, the focus changed to developing solutions for independent software vendors, and in a short period, we gained a good reputation within the Netherlands.
In the first years, our clients sent us their requirements by fax (the telephonic transmission of scanned printed material, usually from one telephone number to another connected to a printer). We delivered the developed product by a floppy disk (plastic disk covered on one or both sides with a magnetic film to store data) - another device you might never see or use if you were a young professional.
Our colleagues were used to working in shifts because of the limited infrastructure and workstations. "To think that we could do software development at the time when it was one email address for the entire company is quite special," says our managing director, Daniel Lar.
For a few years, this was our daily routine. But soon, the world around us would change like never before. Yet, Nethrom stood tall, already revealing that our greatest strength lies in adapting and embracing change with open arms.
In 2000, we established several communities.
We continually grew, and after 7 years, in 2000, we already had established several communities working on Progress (+10 colleagues), C++ (+20 colleagues), and .NET (+70 colleagues) and initiated the first projects using Java. We developed an in-house ERP using .Net that served dozens of small and medium Romanian enterprises in the following years. Success wasn't an overnight guest. It was a journey, a path paved by our mindset and sustained by perseverance from our colleagues.

our second decade
2006 marked Nethrom's transformation into Yonder as part of Total Specific Solutions (TSS).
In 2006, Nethrom became part of Total Specific Solutions, and we created a new identity: We became Yonder. Being part of TSS helped us gain more perspective about each vertical market we are involved in so our partners could benefit from effective and efficient solutions. But it wasn't until 2011 that we introduced our unique colors – magenta for boldness and blue for maturity.
In the meantime, internally, we created a matrix organization to empower the delivery managers to focus more on our partners/clients and provide a new context for the career managers to give more attention to people development. The matrix meant a decentralized organization that gave us ownership over our projects and careers.
Consequently, we developed small and nimble business units with their own management so we could adapt quickly to changes in the market or with our partners. We continue to expand our expertise to Front-end, Python, QC, RA, DevOps, UI/UX, mobile applications, and many more.
2012 marked the opening of our delivery center in Iași, Romania.
In 2012, we opened a new delivery center in Iași, Romania. Today, we have 128 colleagues working from there, and it is still growing.
our third decade
2013 marked TSS joining Constellation Software Inc. (CSI).
On 15th of December 2013, TSS became part of Constellation Software Inc. (CSI). A world of knowledge opened for us on how to run successful software companies and transform organizations through innovation.
2017 saw us expand from 2 to 5 dynamic business units.
In 2017, Yonder went from 2 to 5 internal business units. Smaller and agile units mean higher customer intimacy. It also means each business unit could analyze its revenue stream and EBITA more carefully.
In 2018, we celebrated 25 years of Yonder.
In 2021, we gained more expertise.
In 2021, Total Specific Solutions and Topicus gathered their expertise under Topicus.com, a listed holding at the TSX Venture Exchange.
In 2023, we celebrated 30 years of continuous innovation.

We celebrated our 30th anniversary with colleagues, customers, partners, alumni, and the local community. At present, we have +400 inspiring colleagues working as partners with 87 long- and short-term customers on 3 continents (Europe, North America, and Australia) in 18 different countries. At Yonder, it's all about the people. People make the company. We love innovating and growing our knowledge to improve ourselves, our company, and our services.
